text from the metaphor and memory of fishing

As many moon phases cycled, she became the reflection of the sky, this was not long after leaving the land on a fishing boat.

The land in sight, was nowhere, far from anywhere and the vessel was witness to the gradual transition of herself at sea in the dawn and dusk half-light.

As her life shape shifted from woman to fisher, she was happiest and let her mind wander.

Mermaids, protectors of the sea, its creatures, and treasures were moments for introspection and contemplation.

And she imagined with such intensity, that her rhythm, immersed in thoughts about fishes and ocean became the reflection of an urchin moon, bleached crust and brittle.

Nets soaking in low tide mud became downtime and as she listened to the fisherman tell their tale she drew, and she marked time in a sea log.

Superstition, guardians of the sea, half human half fish, waves and sailing ships, compass points and crustation became a language.
