a slow slow winter . . . and then . . . .The boutique opened its doors on the 19th of September 2015 coinciding with term 3 school holidays . In the studio an orbit of screen printing, dying and sewing manifest as piles of folded revolution. CLOTH is ironing cold linen and steaming hand loom silk, CLOTH is embellishing and simultaneously showing restraint. The collection now holds the handmade, the hand loom, the hand spun, the salvaged, the natural, the ethically sourced, the ethically sewn, the digital print, the screen print, the relief print, it expands, it travels, it drapes and it is distressed, it has a distinctive stitch and a makers mark. It evolves and it softens. It is tactile and seductive. " it is textile innovation" according to Time Growcott, and proudly located at 'the paris end of Hesse' as one fine lady announced as she dashed in for a digital frontier scarf printed on the silk cotton blend. There are Linen cushions and bags, unique garments and cloth by the meter. Its fresh and I post a little moment from the space everyday on Facebook and Instagram - the CLOTH community is growing everyday - your welcome to follow. . . and it is my intention to one day soon, get a red hot website, with thermo-mix-like capabilities that sells, sews, prints, makes a cuppa tea and cleans the shop floor after a heady day of colour blocking so standby and please be patient for that big WEB moment!!!! Meanwhile this is it - if you want something you have seen on Instagram or Face Book or have requests please contact me to discuss. I'm really focused on getting the mix just right, sourcing Handloom cloth and ethical manufacturing through the stitching project in Pushkar INDIA - a fair-trade womans development moment - driven by the very awesome Fiona Wright.
